I emailed him urging opposition to AB 352, the microstamping bill. This is his reply.

Dear Friend:

Thank you for your letter regarding AB 352, the Firearms Microstamping bill.

As an elected official, my first priority has always been to accurately represent the views of my constituents. Over the past few months, I have heard from many of you expressing grave concerns as well as support in regards to this legislation. I apologize for the delay in responding to you.

Ultimately, I believe this bill will help prevent crime and murder. Microstamping will help law enforcement in their investigations bringing them one step closer to arresting the responsible individual/s.

AB 352 has passed through the Assembly and is currently in the Senate. Thank you again for your time and consideration. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions on this or another issue.

Sincerely,
Jerome E. Horton

At least he replied (even if it didn't make a difference). I sent emails out to the AZ Governor and several Congressmen regarding the bill here in AZ that would allow us to carry into bars/restaurants as long as we didn't drink, and didn't hear one peep from anyone! And it was vetoe'd by the Gov. in the end as well......

I replied assuring him I would spread the word of his anti-gun stance, and would do everything in my power to make sure he is not ever elected to anything again.

So would executing all convicted violent felons and abolishing the 4th amendment. Is it safe to say he supports both of those proposals as well?

Moronic elected officials who say things like that prove the theory of evolution; they're obviously distant relatives of slugs.

I know how you feel. I mailed seven letters out to CA Assembly members to support repealing the CA AWB and I haven't gotten one response back. Probably because they don't give a rat's @$$ about a displaced San Diegan's position on the matter. I said that I was going to change my official state of residence and deny them my tax dollars if they didn't support it since I couldn't vote them out of office (not in my district), but the proposal was pulled by the author due to lack of support. Oh well, I'll keep writing regardless. Maybe I will get a response to one letter someday.

I get so sick of these letters. Politicians have a standard reply format:
----
Dear Constituent:

I received your communication regarding __________. I am right and you are wrong, so go **** yourself. Thank you so much for writing. It's people like you who really make a difference.
----

You haven't lived until you've gotten one of these from Dianne Feinstein.

Tim

So which is it? Will it prevent crimes or will it bring cops 'one step closer' to solving them?

Try neither.

the only thing this will do is ultimately, down the line through further legislation, take the gun out of the every day citizen that has it for self protection and put them in the hands of criminals only. they will find a way to get a gun. hell, they are already going to commit a crime, so why not go all out and do it the right way? but too many people don't see this coming and feel that all guns are bad. sorry, but the gun is just a tool. so does that mean than all "weapons" should be taken away? well, then give me the pen that you sign the legislation with because you could stab somebody in the eye, ear, nose, etc. and kill them with that too. so does that mean that all pens and pencils are dangerous? no. just not on the liberal radar for weapons. hell, they will let me build catapults with no more than a look twice to see what it looks like. boy, being raised in TX and being stationed in the left coast state is very hard on my views.

M198, hope you enjoy your stay in my state. I hope to visit Texas some day soon. Please, if you can, leave some of your Texas gun views here with you when you go.

No, he isn't. He knows the point of the bill is to make ammo and handguns prohibitively expensive. Stopping "crime and murder" is just something they say to get the idiots to feel good about this bill.

I think that there are Oswalds walking around, but they don't act because there's no advantage, much less an advantage worth the risk, to killing these idiots. Public opinion supports them. More idiots will just be voted into office, and the assassin(s) would be hunted to the ends of the earth.

Is it possible to accomplish anything by assassinating a political figure? Maybe it is if that politician is a skillful demagogue; a replacement would not have the same success at implementing policy or rallying citizens around a cause. But are fascist politicians today, even federal leaders like Feinstein, Kerry, Kennedy or Schumer, so highly skilled? Are they anything more than cogs in the Democratic machine?

They are not skilled. The "people" are stupid.

"They are not skilled. The "people" are stupid."

I don't know about the people and their stupidity. Living in PRK I sometimes think you may be right, but I get a jaundiced view by our extremely biased press. That notwithstanding, I think that Feinstein, Kerry, Kennedy, and Schumer are *very highly* skilled. We may not agree with them, but they are very effective politicians, and that's what makes them so dangerous. They cannot be ignored at any time.

Tim

Mike, I agree that current politicians are not skilled. That's why I think assassination would be worse than useless. Public opinion would turn against the assassin's cause, and the deceased politician would be quickly and easily replaced with another who'd be no better.

I think there have been some demagogues in the past whose successes cannot be chalked up to the stupidity of the people. Whether good or bad, such people make history.

Don't "whack" bad politicians!

Every time that someone takes it upon themselves to whack a politician we get more and more Nazi type anti-gun legislation. As much as we may detest the commie, socialist, one worlders who make our Government weaker by the day, They who hate God, religion, decency, social morals may deserve the thought of a pine box, six feet under. But the ballot box is the only way we can win, not by assassinations. On our side there are the things like alcoholism, cancer, AIDs, heart trouble, and etc that guarantee that those despicable politician types won't be around forever (look at kennedy).
