Electronic Books and Magazines

I have a Color Nook that I can either run as a Nook (5%) or an Android Tablet (95%). Using it as an Android Tablet, I can run the Nook reader, the Amazon Kindle reader, or the Aldiko Reader (that renders pretty much any format). I'd love to have some good tutorial books and magazines to read. On the tablet's browser I can read the zmags the NRA publishes, but they are a real pain as they don't fit the screen well - they are made for full size monitors, not tablets.

I've prowled various sites and resources, but mostly what I find are survivalist and self-defense type pamphlets in PDF. I'm a rifle (30-06 Sprg) and shotgun hunter, and occasional plinker. I've also been out of rifle hunting for 30 years, so I'd love to find some good instructional books from the basics to advanced - that I can read on a tablet. Magazines would be good too.

Can anyone recommend any good ebooks or magazines, including where to find them.

Thanks in advance,
Andrew

SWAT Magazine has a PDF version that can go on a tablet. You can check out the details at the SWAT forum here at TFL.

I'm pretty sure that most Pedersen Publishing titles are available as e-books, and I think that Handloader, Rifle, and Successful Hunter from Wolfe Publishing are also available that way.

Thank you. I'll check out the SWAT shortly. Handloader, Rifle, and Successful Hunter from Wolfe Publishing are indeed available in PDF. I just signed up for all three for a year at $19.95. I would have preferred an ebook format, but they way they have laid out their PDFs make it reasonably easy to read on a tablet. I looked around Peterson's site, but haven't found (yet) where their material is available in PDF or ebook format.

If anyone else has any suggestions on other good hunting and shooting (not self defense and the like) training books or magazines, I'm still interested.

Thank you again,
Andrew

FMG publications are available free online at:

www.gunsmagazine.com

www.americanhandgunner.com

New issues appear at about the same time the print editions appear on newstands.

Go to the web site and click on the heading "Digital Editions", then click on the issue you're interested in. The format is identical to the print edition, same text, photos, layout.

You can page through or just click on the article you want (on the cover or in the table of contents) and it will take you directly to the article.

Here's a link to the current American Handgunner:

Thank you Dave for the additional resources. This is excellent. I'm quickly getting more than I'll have time to read. These periodicals are excellent.

Yet I'm still open to more, especially books. Keep 'em coming!

Thank you everyone,
Andrew

PS. I'm also going to be prowling your web site. Thanks for the link.
