Election time! Do you get antsy??

Seems I get a bit worried as election time nears - as to what new laws may come our way as our elected leadership changes. And current events like the school shootings are in mind also.

Does anyone else...worry? I seem to place my buying focus on semi-autos more, and on handguns. I assume anything existing/owned will be "grandfathered" and I would be allowed to keep.

Not really (get antsy), usually just sick to my stomach :o .

But, depending on how november goes I may have to stock up on mags, ammo, etc..

And depending on how november 2008 goes, I may need to stock up on EBR's.

I will be building an AR-15 SBR* next year, so at least I'll have that before all heck breaks loose.

*Yes, I know it is on a form 1, I know it cost $200, I've done this before.

I still want to buy a semi-automatic rifle. Just waiting for an SKS to show up at a good price.

No, I don't get antsy around election time. Neither party has any interest in gun control, the Democrats saw what happened last time they tried it. It way down the list on their agenda of stuff to try.

Might be alot of changes coming.

I think people have had it. Time for taking it to the streets and NOW. it's going to be interesting! http//www.worldcantwait.org :D

Y'know, it's a lot easier to take a few hours on a weekend to distribute literature or yard signs than it is to shoot it out with the ATF.

Oh, yeah, I forgot. Distributing literature isn't "macho" or "tactical."

not really

...but I must admit, Archerandshoote and I were talking about the upcoming elections last weekend and I opined that if the Dems win control of Congress I'm heading over to buy a Bushmaster I've had my eye on...while I still can....

I wouldn't exactly say I "worry," but yeah, my thoughts turn to what the changes might bring. But I also remind myself to be stoic and resolute regarding what may come, and how I will not capitulate if things get truly tyrannical (like a "turn in all guns" order). With each election, I steel myself to the possibility that I may someday have to align with like-minded freedom lovers and head into the mountains to live off the land while engaged in guerrilla tactics. :D

But one thing is sure: Do NOT count on the guns you have being forever "grandfathered." Did they grandfather "assault weapons" in CA, NJ, NY, MA...? Surely not.

Azure,

Actually they did - grandfather assault weapons and hi-cap mags, atleast in NY (and CA?). Any out there could be bought and sold, possessed etc., just no new ones brought in.

Sucks 'cause I had an AR I payed $500 for, then traded for a Colt Officers as I eventually was going to get a HB; within a couple months it tripled in value. Remembering now I could have bought a Steyr Aug for the about the same $$... :(
