Dear all,

i can get my hands on two El Tigre (44-40) in shooting but used condition.

What could be a fair price for both seller and buyer?

regards

Way to go! They were used in a lot of Hollywood shoots when they didnt want to risk roughing up a Win or distance shots. One of Chuck Connors' three or four was an El Tigre, quickly identifiable by the front sight location in front (ahead) of the barrel band versus Win's which was behind. A lot of people have derided these as rough, but the were a heck of a lot closer in design and execution than many of those that came later. I'd love to have an El Tigre - "just because" - to complement my other 92 clones and especially at that price.

The El Tigre 44-40 was the issue carbine for the Spanish Police until replaced with the bolt action Destroyer in 9mm Bergman (largo). As most have seen considerable use It probably deserves a thorough check by someone competent.

Dear all,

after checking and bore cleaning the Tigre yesterday it was range time ==> Steel plates 20 yards

Everything worked fine, i used original WIN 44-40 made in the 1970 and in addition new factory cowboy loads (pure lead). Both worked fine but the WIN had a "better kick"...

Next time we will go to the 50 yard target range...
