I am thinking about buying an El Paso Saddlery No. 88 "Street Combat" holster for my four inch M58. Has anyone used one of these? If so what was your impression of them. They are OK for IDPA matches. Has anyone used one in IDPA?

I've heard good things about the El Paso firm generally, but nothing about the 88 holster in particular.

Dr. Libourel, who edits,"Gun World" and used to be at, "Petersen's Handguns" has one that he's said works well for him. It's appeared in some of his articles. I recall that it's for a K or N-frame Smith.

I am very familiar with El Paso's products generally. If you want traditional styles or military reproductions, and especially if you like quality basketweave or floral stamping, I doubt if they can be beaten.

I'd say that if you like pancake styles, the Model 88 will do well by you. It may not be as thin as some, but I think it will conceal okay.

I use one for my 4" M29, and I love it. It's a very heavy piece of leather, but it conceals well with a stout belt and covering garment. Price is right, and those folks at epsaddlery.com are the best.

I think you'll be impressed with it. Get the basketweave stamping if you like that. It has to be beheld to be appreciated. Wonderful work!

El Paso has some fine leather. I bought the tortillo holster for my SBH and the work is top class. Good company.

The #88 is a great holster, especially for the price. It conceals very well and is very fast to draw, especially for a revolver. I don't know about you, but I find it much harder to draw a revolver as fast as a pistol with most rigs, but the #88 solved that problem for me. I would highly recommend it.
