El Dorado County, CA CCW

El Dorado is a fine place to get a CCW. The sherrif is very pro-gun. He was at the FONRA dinner this past Feb.

If you know a Bob Hancock, he can help. Also, go by the local gun store, forgot the name, and ask around. Great shooting ranges they have up there in the foothills and outside Folsom.

PS. I'm not up there, my Boss is.

The gun store I'm talking about is located in Placerville somewhere.

MountainGun44,

I got mine in Santa Barbara County. Email me if you want to compare the application process. It took about six months total, most of which (4 months) was for the DOJ criminal history check.

Good luck, regards,

Everything I've heard says El Dorado is shall-issue or damned close to it. I'd STILL try and thunk up a "good cause statement" short of lying...go see what Dennis Kennedy has to say on "good cause" on my site, URL below. But in general, you're in pretty good shape...keep it friendly and professional and you'll score.

The name of the gun store in Placerville is 'Big Horn'. They can probably give you some good info.
