Telephoned my eighty year old mother
the other day. During the conversation
She asked if I wanted a revolver that had
belonged to my father. I indicated I
did.
She told me she would mail it to me.
It took a couple of minutes explaination,
but I managed to convinced her it would
not be a good idea, and why.
She called this evening. She is flying
down for a visit in a couple of weeks.
She has decided to bring it with her then.
I've talked her through the process and
will follow it up with written
instructions to avoid any difficulties.
The thought of an eighty year old great-
grandmother "declaring" at the ticket
counter is interesting.
Even at her age, she has more energy and
moxie than a lot of people I know.
