I found a Colt Lawman MKIII 357 Magnum rounded butt snub today. Blued. The price was $250.00. I am considering buying but, I would like to hear from the Colt crowd. Is there anything to be wary of? The revolver checked out fine. I just want to know if it is a good Colt for CCW?

I used to have a 4 inch and othe than being heavy and large would work fine for CCW. 250 seems low, even for my part of the country. I believe it was a good weapon but like most other revolvers was pushed out by S&W products. Colt waited too long to actively pursue a share of the revovler market after WWII. And of course never did catch up.

MkIII

I used to have a 4", nice gun but the trigger was stiff with lots of stacking, (sold it for that reason) it used a coil spring as a mainspring not like a Python or the D frames. I've heard of the 2" Mk III but have never seen any, other than in books, they are definitely rare. Nice condition for $250 sounds like a very good deal.

My 2" is very accurate and pleasant to shoot . DON"T dry fire this one alot. Only Colt can replace the fireing pin. These guns are sleepers and will be very valuable in 10+ years! :)

I have a Colt Trooper MKIII in 4' 357 Magnum with nickel finish. It has served admirably. I will pick it up tomorrow and report back.
