Eds Red safe on my USP?

I picked up the ingedients for a batch of eds red. I'll try it on a ruger bisley tonight, but I thought I'd ask if anyone knows if it is safe for use on polymer frames and night sights?

Ideally, I'd love to just dunk the usp for 30 minutes, then clean and lube. However, I don't want to come back and find a bucket of plastic sludge. I would like to avoid long term cumulative damage also.

Since Ed Harris suggests storing ER in plastic containers (PET or PVC), it might be ok. He says to keep it away from HDPE. Your best bet would be to test a drop on a non-sliding and hidden spot on the slide; IOW, where it won't affect the function or looks of the slide. If the spot becomes gummy, you have your answer. The most likely ingredient to cause any problems with plastic is the acetone.
