Ed's Red Question

When using ER to clean the barrel, is it necessary to lube afterwards or is ER self-lubing like CLP(which is what I use as lube anyway)?

Also, I understand that it cuts lead but not copper. I use FMJ pretty much exclusively. Should I use a copper cutter every say 500 rounds or so? Or is that too often?

I've never oiled a barrel after using it. The only thing that evaporates is the acetone and the mineral spirits. I imagine the kerosene takes longer, but you still have the ATF in there.
I guess you might want to put something else down the bore for long term storage??

You'll just have to judge for yourself when you think you have a copper fouling problem and when to use it.

If you mix Ed's Red...

Using the anhydrous lanolin part of the formula, the lubricity and oiling of the bore is taken care of.;)

Head over to a pharmacy of your choosing...

and ask the nice man in the white smock behind the counter for Anhydrous Lanolin (anhydrous means no added water). It may be on a shelf in front of the counter, but if not, he'll know what to get. It's lamb's wool fat, and comes in a little tub. Here's the MSDS: http://www.jtbaker.com/msds/l1268.htm

It doesn't take much lanolin to add to Ed's Red, but you do have to warm it up to become liquid, then add the room-temperature Ed's Red to the liquid lanolin a spoonful or two at a time. If the warm lanolin is added to the cooler Ed's Red, it will form pellets of lanolin in the bottom of the Ed's Red, hence the technique above.
