I'm planning on adding custom upgrades for my stock Para Ordnance P-12 for carry and IDPA.Can anyone recommend which parts are more reliable or if i can send my gun to them to have it upgraded?I plan on having a high rise beavertail, commander style hammer, lighter trigger and extended tactical safety put on.

err, Pirate, you might want to check with Ed Brown or Wilson Combat to see if they will work on Para-ordinance. Some smiths won't touch 'em. I'm sure you can find someone to work on it. This subject was recently raised on 1911 forum...you might want to check out the threads there...

Hope this helps,

I second C&S for Para Ord work, although the prices can leave you breathless. Of course you are always free to use Wilson and Brown 1911 parts (if they make any for PO) but neither will work on your gun for you. (You are always welcome to try) You can also try the Gunsite Gunsmithy. Ted Yost also does nice work, he did some tuning on my Springfield GSP.
