Easy at home Parkerizing??

I'm getting ready to sand blast, and parkerize my 1911 slide and frame. I've been looking around and it seems like there are several ways to do it.

Some people say to buy the "kits", some people say to just buy a bottle of parkerizing fluid from Brownells and that's all I will need, and some people say to just go to Home Depot and buy some phosphoric acid and some steel wool and I will be good to go.

Can someone please help me out...what's the easiest and cheapest way to get a good parkerized finish? I'm going to go over the parkerizing with KG Gun-Kote.

Any info would really help me out!!

Thanks!

Thanks for the info!

I know what most people will sand blast before parkerizing, but what about a good sanding with 400 grit paper instead? I'm going to spray a coating over it, so the appearance of the park isn't all that critical. Just wondering...

Thanks
