East German Makarov problem

Hello, I have an EG Mak that I have been shooting for about a year now, and it has developed a problem. When I fire the pistol it does not cock the hammer for the next shot anymore. The hammer sort of looks like it is cocked and ready to fire but I must move the hammer slightly rear-ward, with my thumb, to engage the trigger so it is really ready to fire. I can rake the slide to the rear as a firing sequence would do and the hammer cocks just fine. I have stripped the gun down and everything looks good. No broken or worn parts. With the slide removed the hammer and sear seem to operate just fine. Any suggestions or comments on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tom

every shot does this?sounds like light loads, but probably your sear is worn bad ,and I wonder what the hammer is stoping at?theres no half cock ,is their?sounds like you need a smith.dangerous things are happening!

It does sound like sear on its way out.
You can actually replace the part yourself. It is very easy. Parts are avial. from makarov.com

If you lat it go for much longer, you may have a full auto makarov.
