i'm interested in getting some electronic ear muffs...
i have no idea what brand is good...
does anyone have any experiance with any of the leading brands or any reccomendations

Walker is one of the best around for total NRR and comfort - the better models of any maker will run about $150 and up. Don't go TOO cheap - hearing damage is NOT reversible - I know and it sucks not being able to hear things easily that I once did

yea... i've been looking at the walker brand... but some of the reviews were not so good...
was hoping to hear from someone hear that has some hands on experiance

Radians makes a nice pair, i think I gave 99bucks for mine. I saw in the cabellas catalog the other day they have them on sale for 69 if ya dont mind havin seclusion 3d camo

I also have a pair of Radians.

They work well, but are not very rugged. I'll be replacing them this year after about 3, maybe 4 years of service. They still work but they're pretty beat up and I've had to baby them to get them this far, and had to make a few redneck repairs to some pieces. I guess for the price I shouldn't complain. I paid $115, IIRC, but they're much cheaper now. Pay attention to the Noise Reduction Rating though. It was higher when I bought mine, I think. They're thinner now, with a lower rating.

I have very sensitive ears, first off I wear combat arms earplugs and a pair of walker muffs over them when firing. I've dropped my walkers, gotten them wet, etc. they work well and are pretty durable.

yea... i like what i read about the walkers.. but the negative reviews sorta turned me off.. but there were only about 6 reviews... and at least 4 of them talked about the poor quality of the walker (not working and no help from the factory)

I have a set of the slimline Peltors.
The battery replacment is "an interesting exercise in dexterity" as the batteries go inside the muffs individually & to open the muff body is a project.
The slimline, which I wanted particularly so I wouldn't have contact with the rifle stock, are too slimline, they actually contact my ears on the inside, very distracting!
They also still contact the stock *sigh*.

They do work well & I particularly like the fact that each earcup is 100% independant of the other. If anything goes wrong at least one side will still be working.:D
