Ear and Eye protection

Where is the best place to get ear and eye protection? What itmes would you suggest?

Shooting range purposes only.

Thanks,
Randy

I wear shatter-resistant eyeglasses all the time, so that's usually all the eye protection I go with.

Hearing protection is another matter. I never shoot without it, not even a .22. I did enough damage to my hearing playing in garage bands many years ago. I tried the foam ear plugs (fairly effective, cheap, and disposable), the Sonic Ear Valves (they work, but I found them very uncomfortable), and I've been using the "head-phone-style" hearing protectors for the past 20 years, and I like those best.

There are newer electronic hearing protectors that are supposed to be good, but I haven't tried those yet.

You can go On-the-cheap with Peltor #9's. Or step up to little more comfort with the Peltor #10's. I would suggest the latter, personally. Use in conjunction with "foamies" for added noise reduction if you so choose.

As for eyewear, Gateways are cheap, adjustable, and they work.

Also, Amazon carries a good selection of Peltor Hearing Protection. Lots of colors and styles.
