Eagle brand AR mags -- any good??

Got a line on some Eagle clear plastic AR mags. Kind of have a waffle pattern on the side. never used. Have a funky spring system that uses a flat spring rather than a regular spring. Hard to explain. $65 for three with a brand new GI mag pouch.

Is this a deal or not?

It's not a deal. If you want reliable AR mags, go for the GI magazines, stay away from the aftermarket junk. If you buzz over to AR15.COM and look in the equipment exchange forum, you can find plenty of nice magazines for the same price, only they'll work!

I don't know the current price but.....

The Eagle mags were some of the only aftermarket mags to work, IIRC. I think they even made one that worked in the Mini 14 and the AR15. Don't own any haven't seen one in years, but there were reputed to work.

Johnwill give good advice....stick with USGI aluminum, followed by Thermold then Orlites. Orlites won't work in all Bushmaster lowers. Don't buy USA or any other brand.

I would be curious if they work for you. If they do (and everything I've heard about them suggests they will) you got a pretty good deal including the pouch. I can't remember the last time I've even seen one for sale, so there may be some collector value as well.

Good price, I think

TAPCO lists the Eagle mags for $29.99 ea., so I'd say the price of $65 for 3 is pretty good.

I've heard they work okay, but I don't personally know.

They might have some collector value as part of a one-of-everything collection, but I don't think they have collector value by themselves.
