Its designed to appeal to them. Lots of color options and tweaked dimensions to better fit smaller hands.

It's basically a cz75 clone in polymer... But with some changes I think really help. The wider and deeper cocking serrations are a big help on racking the shorter slide.

My wife once told me that if I ever got her a pink or purple gun, she'd shoot me in the butt with it. I wonder how she would feel about gold sparkles...

Seriously, though, congrats on a nifty new gun. I hope you enjoy it.

Another line of guns not allowed for sale to me

Too bad as my wife is interested in a 9mm and anything based on the CZ frame ought to be great.

Getting a purple sparkly gun with sprinkles on it for the wife is a running joke in my household - everyone amused with the exception of the wife.

I kind of wish they made a normal Pavona.
What, you don't like guns that look like a bass boat or a low rider? ;) :p

Nah, seriously. The Tanfo Witness Polymer Compact is pretty close, although (a) the version currently shown on EAA's website has a tac rail whereas the Pavona does not, (b) there is no .380 ACP version although this is no big loss in my estimation*, and (c) gun press articles vaguely claim "improvements" to the Pavona to make it "easier to operate" than the standard Witness Poly, although I've not seen any definitive list of what this consists of, other than the obvious wider slide serrations.

*IMHO the .380 Pavona is pointless because it's no smaller than the 9mm/40, the MSRP is the same, and it's blowback rather than locked breech like the other versions, so it most likely won't have a substantial edge over the 9mm in felt recoil or slide operation force. I frankly can't understand why EAA/Tanfo even bothered.

I've seen the black pavona with "sparkles" at a recent gun show - It's not very sparkly - more or less just tiny dots or flecks. If I really wanted that gun, but was afraid golden flecks would dissuade me, after looking at it I'd think "oh, that's all it is?" and buy it anyway.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the Pavona is Turkish, not Tanfoglio made.

Too many negatives to understand you, considering what EAA is up to it is likely a re-branded Grand Power from Turkey rather than the Italian Tanfoglio. That would also hurt my desire for the style. I was considering getting a compact frame and putting the Pavona upper in it. Currently I only have a full size Tanfoglio

Don't, not...?

Either way, the EAA website certainly says it's a Tanfoglio product from Italy...
By Tanfolgio For the discerning female shooter who appreciates Italian design and craftsmanship. The new WITNESS PAVONA POLYMER PISTOL is compact, easy to load, easy to control and enjoyable to use. From its inception in the world famous Italian Valley of the Guns, the Witness Pavona offers a lightweight, ergonomic grip in a distinct, compact, smooth, sparkling polymer frame; with integral checkering and sculptured, contoured lines. Tanfoglio kept the traditional external hammer so when the hammer is cocked with the safety engaged, before slide movement, the hammer spring is depressed thus allowing the slide to move easier during loading. Tanfoglio engineers also fine-tuned the hammer and recoil springs to allow for smoother function...
[Actually, they misspelled Tanfoglio in the opening sentence, "lg" not "gl".]

All in all for the $335, IT is a wonderful gun that has factory customization. The black with sparkles is really not noticeable... Come on now. As Hillary says what difference does this make.

Blame me being underslept and overcaffeinated.

I have seen, under glass at a nearby dealer, a compact sized pink framed polymer CZ clone, that looked to my eyes a lot like the Pavona. It had "SAR" on the frame. Proably this:

This is probably what made me think of the Pavona.

There IS a .380 version which I think is perfect for people who are recoil sensitive, much better than a 'pocket' .380 on which they can barely get a grip.

Hey, guys, if you're not man enough to carry a gun with sparkles just say so.

Pink one is not the the Pavona. Buds does have that pink one for only $270. However not the reduced spring, trigger job and different slide serrations.
