EAA Witness Pavona Holster?

I'm wondering if anyone out there has any suggestions as to how to most cost effectively on body carry the Witness Pavona? Or if any of you out there are aware of any holster company who is currently manufacturing holsters for this firearm? Or will do a custom kydex mold or custom holster for me?

I currently have an Alien Gear 3.0 IWB with the EAA Witness non-railed full size shell, which "works", because it is basically the same dimensions, but the barrel formed into the kydex is longer than needed so it pinches every now and then & is therefore not "perfect". The holster itself is wonderful & very comfortable, when the over-sized area of the molded kydex isnt pinching...

Only posting this because I'm "new" to on body carry & thought someone out there may have more experience than me...

I'm not sure how to "quote" so both of you see this response... but hoping you'll see it.

Limnophile: I carry in both IWB & OWB, prefer IWB.

Railroader: They do offer a "Witness steel" however the dimensions are off and the firearm doesn't fit at all. We ordered that shell & had to swap it for the full size because the full size is the same as the Pavona except for having a longer barrel.

I've e-mailed a whole bunch of holster companies, and am getting to the point I'm just gonna have to make my own...

Making your own Crossbreed Supertuck-type holster is not that difficult. EAA hasn't compiled a list of holsters that fit their handguns?

I don't think the design is much different that a EAA Witness compact which there are many holsters for?

I just bought my gal a Pavona for Xmass so I will be looking for a holster as well.

Alien also lists an all steel compact witness shell. I would think that would be close enough to work with the Pavona.

She tried that; didn't work. A leather holster for a Witness Compact might work. I'm assuming, perhaps incorrectly, that the Pavona is wider? It appears that the two guns have the same basic dimensions.

Is there an EAA forum or women's gun forum where other Pavona owners can be queried as to what holsters they are using successfully?

I haven't been able to get my hands onto a leather holster & haven't tried the canvas universal on it yet, had forgotten I owned it in fact because I haven't liked it all that much.

According the EAA's website, the dimensions are the same on the Pavona as the non-railed compact, but in answer to one of the other commenters who suggested making my own... I haven't the faintest idea how to go about doing that... I am skilled enough to SEW something like a "thunderwear" or something, but I have children, and honestly am not sure how safe that type of holster is? My husband & I have always stuck with holsters that either have a "lock", a snap, or have pressure retention... Just to retain another level of safety.

Answering another commenters question as to if EAA has compiled a list of holsters for this firearm, the answer is no. The only holster they provide information on is their own holster, which is not for on body carry at all. The D'Wedge is a purse holster with "wings" that expand & lock on the inside of the purse with a fitted plastic/kydex holster section. I have no interest in this type of carry option, I love my safety & the safety of my children, & my firearm, too much to risk an accident or to have someone steal my purse & therefore my firearm.

When you e-mail the company directly, they offer no assistance what so ever.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my pavona, but had I realized the holster issues, I might have thought about it a second longer. Probably would have still bought it, but would have thought about it a little longer. :-)

On another note I really need to learn how to quote things... how do you do that??

Just found this one. :) Haven't purchased to verify that it is indeed made to fit the Pavona, but since he lists all of the other witness line as well, I'm guessing he probably is legitimately making Pavona holsters for IWB.

Try Theis holsters.
They list the Witness P and all variants of the P, but a common misunderstanding is that the Witness P is the Pavona, it is not, and will not fit. The Witness P is supposed to be the steel, but in polymer.

In a pinch, two holsters that can be made to work, are the full size witness steel (holster will be too long in the barrel but fit the gun properly in all other areas), if you make sure to get the non-railed, or the steel compact. Supposedly, the steel compact is the male version of Pavona. I have no personal experience holding/handing the steel compact, but would like to. Just to put them side by side to make exact comparisons.

According to my research, and questions I've asked directly of the company, none of the witness P line will work for Pavona. The witness P compact & carry are railed, so the pavona will shift around too much and not ride properly. I'm currently using a full size witness (non-railed) holster to ccw my pavona till I find something better.

Limnophile: You would be correct in thinking that the witness compact would fit the pavona. I have honestly not been able to find anything for that firearm either though. EAA truly is dropping the ball on some potential income here... and if I didn't have a 2-year old & a 9-month old running around I would very seriously consider learning to make holsters just to suit these hard to find guns.

D_W,

No sewing required to make your own hybrid leather-kydex IWB holster:

http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-Your-Own-Hybred-IWB-Holster/.

Most manufacturers of such holsters sell the component parts. I believe you heat a sheet of kydex in your oven, then mold it to your gun. You then trim the kydex, drill holes in it, then attach to the leather with retention screws. I think retention is adjustable via the screws. Clips are screwed onto the leather, and you have a custom-molded, tuckable, IWB holster at a reasonable price.

I'm thinking if you want to avoid most of these steps, you could get a hybrid holster for a similar EEA compact, detach the kydex, warm it up, then mold it to fit your Pavona.

As to quoting, enclose the words you wish to quote with [ quote ] ... [ /quote ] sans spaces. In your reply window there's a cartoon speech symbol that will provide the quote commands; just paste your quote between them.

The Pavona is a really popular gun these days and I have no problem believing the Ebay seller is making them.

I would like to hear what you think about these holsters if you buy one. I need one for my gals new Pavona once she gets her CCW.

Witness P is not for pavona it is for polymer. Witness p models were out long before the pavona model. I would contact Theis. He is very good about answering emails. Tell him the you have which is basically a polymer small framed non railed witness compact.

EAA Witness Pavona holster finds...

I was just on the phone with EAA the other day to order some stuff and I asked the CS rep about a list of companies that DO make holsters for EAA's different guns, especially the Tangfolio Witness Pavona line. They said that they don't have a list, yet, but are working on it. They DID give me 2 names. Rossleather.com and hbeleatherworks.com. I've also found 2 guys that do custom Kydex holsters that can do the EAA line, but unfortunately cam only remember the name of 1. His Facebook page is Big Stick Defense and his name is Levi Ralston. When I remember the other, I will add it. Hope this helps. Good luck!!!

Thank you!

Thank you for the information! The last time I talked to EAA directly they didn't have any suggestions for holsters aside from the purse insert they make so it's really good to know that they've added some companies to their list of possible holster options!

The Pavona is a really popular gun these days and I have no problem believing the Ebay seller is making them.
The Ebay seller I linked to in a previous post has stopped making holsters for EAA as a general whole because he says their firearms have too many "difficult sharp edges to work with". Also says that if someone were to come to him in person with the firearm he'll still do custom jobs but won't do them for anyone outside of driving distance at this point in time. :(

No sewing required to make your own hybrid leather-kydex IWB holster...
Ooooo!! That looks like a really good tutorial! Might have to invest in the materials and start doing it for myself if it's truly that easy! We already have all of those tools needed except the press, and my grandfather has one of those (although is recovering from a hip replacement so not allowed to enter his shop by order of my grandmother, uncle & brother...) Thank you very much Limnophile! :D

They said that they don't have a list, yet, but are working on it. They DID give me 2 names. Rossleather.com and hbeleatherworks.com.
After looking at the options in both of these, it looks like Ross Leather is more of a production line, and HBE Leatherworks sees to be more custom work but I could be wrong. Both of them look like their holsters could have merit. :-)

Ya, it us frustrating. Mist com poo anise I talk to are like, "oh yeah, the CZ 75 clone, ya we have the 75." The problem is from what I've heard is that yes, it is a clone, but no, the Witnesses do NOT fit right in the holsters for the 75's. I have no personal experience with this. It is only what I have read and been told by others who tried.

CZ 75 "clone"

Yes, it is my understanding as well that the CZ 75 was the "original" as it were, and that the witness is a "clone". I also have been told by multiple sources, that the holsters for the CZ firearms do not fit the EAA products correctly at all.

I had the opportunity to handle both the Pavona & the CZ 75 but didn't do so because at the time I didn't see any purpose in it. Now, I wish I had done so, could have compared various aspects, but I was suffering from tunnel vision. Not my proudest blonde moment...

I made a holster for my EAA SAR B6PC from a $1.50 ABS (PVC) 3" drain pipe and a heat gun. I have since made a IWB version and a leather version for my wheel gun. It really only took about 45 minutes and no sewing was needed. I simply used rivots that I purchased from Hobby Lobby to hold things together.

You can see it here https://goo.gl/photos/AgPnznZMnPXkfYE26

Another option is the Remora holster. I ordered a SIZE 11 (IWB no clip) and it fits perfect. http://www.remoraholsters.com

Thanks

Found a plastic holster that works GREAT!!!

I was out in town yesterday and found a Safariland group of holsters. I was able to find a model that fits my Tangfolio Witness Pavona Polymer Compact. I picked up the "578 GLS Pro-Fit Holster" for about $50. It comes with both the paddle & the belt slide. The box stated it was for Sub-Compact model guns and included a list for 26 different gun makes and models. It included Glock, Ruger, Walther, Sprinfield, and more. It lists 8 different Tangfolio models for 9mm, .40, .45, & 10mm. It even fits my wife's Witness Pavona Polymer Compact .380 as well as my Star Firestar M43 too!

And it's not just a regular holster, it has the GLS (Grip Locking System) that secures the gun so it does NOT come out until the unlocking lever is pushed. The unlocking lever handle is placed so that when you go to draw the weapon, it is a natural movement for your middle finger to hit the lever correctly to unlock the gun and pull it out ready to go.

I highly recommend it and I feel it is well worth the money and investment. Now I can start doing pistol shooting competitions, because they only allow certain types of holsters and holster positions. Plus, I can either use the paddle or the belt set up so it is great for everyday carry too. If you have any Q's, hit me up and ask away. So now this is 4 different companies that do EAA guns.

I have one of these for my SAR b6pc. Cheap and all day comfortable. Number 7 fits the b6pc and your Pavona.

I have Alien gear for my Tristar T-120 full size and all metal but I find this extreme cheap holster more than adequate for the compact polymer. Cheap enough to try. If you don't like it you can always use it just for carrying the gun in your range bag. It's soft leather.
