EAA Witness - Opinions?

So what's the buzz on the Witness? Are they as rinkydink as they look, or are they a good bargain?

I just got one in .45 and love it! It even came with a .22 conversion. The only problem I've seen is that the .22 conversion needs the rounds tapped back(like cheap M16 mags) so they're seated all the way back. I just thought I'd mention that so as to save folks some possible grief over nothing:) In .45 it runs great no hang ups at all and accurate enough to roll 12guage empties at 20yds.

My 9mm Witness is great, feeds everything totally reliable, accurate and it was cheap!

A friend bought one from the same shop a couple weeks later, mag didn't fit right, has extraction problems and is picky about what ammo it shoots accurately.

From what others have reported here and elsewhere Witness is kind of like Taurus revolvers, you might get a great one, or you might get a lemon. Same as with most other makes, but it seems there's a higher chance of getting a dud than with Ruger or Sig. If you're thinking of getting one examine it closely before putting your money on the table.

My .40S&W compact Witness is something I shouldn't have purchased.
It's been back to the factory 3 times and all three times comes back with a note stating "Test Fired, OK" and the same problems.

It has a chronic failure to feed ailment that the folks at EAA are either unwilling or unable (due to incompetency) to rectify.

Witness pistols seem to be a crap shoot. Good ones are quite good, bad ones really suck and the factory won`t fix em. I have a Wonderfinished full size in 10mm which I like very much. The trigger is good (after a bunch of rounds),it`s pretty accurate but I do have a problem with premature slide lock with the 2 hottest Corbon 10mm loads. More moderate loads (even pretty warm ones) work fine. If you`re planning on getting any caliber besides 10mm I`d pay a bit more and get a CZ. Marcus

MINE

Tens of thousands of rds through them, one perfect 9x19, idiosyncracies may crop up, ammo trials may be needed, kinda like owning certain 1911's.........love 'em or hate 'em.

I own three frames, and conversions for 9x19, 9x21, 38 Super, 40 S&W, 41AE, and 45ACP.
I'm convinced.
