EAA sxs

I have an EAA sxs coach gun with internal hammers, and it has proven to be a reliable and sturdy shotgun. I was wondering if I could expect the same from the new Hammer double models with functional external hammers. Does anyone have any experience with the EAA mule ears?

Bullfrog, try a search on this forum for eaa, and go down to the cowboy action shooting forum and search there and post. A lot of those guys use a short doubles. I have heard that the hammers move but are just for show and do not actually hit a firing pin on the newer guns, this was from a guy at a dunhams, so take it with a healthy dose of skeptiscim.

There are 3 versions. Hammerless, external cocking of internal firing pins and genuine mule ears. All are solid performers. I have had 0 problems in years of CAS competition. They work well for black powder too due to the chromelined barrels. I did install a Pachmayr white line recoil pad on mine. I put a lace-on recoil pad over that for looks. The gold front bead could be larger.

The Baikal muley I tried out a while back (functional hammers) was actually a well-designed shotgun with some practical features.
I'm told that EAA has lost the import rights on the Baikal lineup now, so I'm not sure what models will be retained or in what form by the new importer.

Nothing on their wed page yet. I saw a web page a few months back from Remington indicating they were about to market some IZH shotguns. Not sure if that has become reality or how they will brand them but interesting.

I've heard that Remington was going to do something, but the word I get now is Winchester.
