Need advice from someone,I purchased a
Bounty Hunter 22/22mag(imported by EAA)
This thing is very poor, won't lock up on
correct cyl. have sent it back twice and
Eaa can't repair each time it comes back
worse shape. It has a life time warranty
but they fail to return mail, phone. Never
had this problem in all the years I have
purchased guns, any ideas. BBB,state
attorney general.? or just give up and go
to a gunsmith.?

I haven't had any experience with EAA, but I have had my share of poor customer service. When you call customer service, ask for the manager. If he or she can' help you, ask for his or her manager. And so on. Be sure to keep documents of all your dealings with them.

In my experience, customer service with EAA for my 10mm witness was good, with the caveat that they never check their voice mail and it's virtually impossible to get a human on the line. :)

When I *HAVE* gotten humans on the line, though, my service was good & I got the stuff I ordered quickly.

I bought a new O/U that didn't have a manual in the box. The dealer could not find one in any of their boxes.
I wrote EAA letter after letter to no avail.
Finally, I found them on the net and downlaoded the owner's manual.

I think they are too busy with their Webpage to waste their time on phone calls and letters.

You might try an E:Mail. :(

Last time I looked at thier web page it wasn't much to brag about. I have a Carry Comp in .45acp, so far no problems. Hope it stays that way, I've read complaints about their customer service on this and other boards. The dealer I bought the gun from was one of the first to admit that dealing with them wasn't easy.

I recently had the adjustable sight of my 10mm witness come apart from the recoil. I emailed them twice (forgot the address to ship it to on the first on) and they sent me the parts no-questions asked. I also had a problem with one of my early 10mm magazines, the weld broke. They replaced it in less then a week. So I have had good luck with them.

On the phone, EAA has two lines an 800 number and a toll number. I forget which, but one they answer routinely and one they do not. Logic stands that they answer the toll number, but I do not remember.

Also if you are having trouble, email tanfolgio (I assume the gun you are talking about was made by them) in Italy. I have carried on a very nice discussion with one of the designers of my 10mm witness about little things that need to be improved over the last year or so. Very nice bunch of poeple.

I had problems with a refund from CompUSA and a company related to them called GemTech. They led me by the nose for three months. Finally I got tired and complained to the consumer rights agency in my home state and the state where GemTech has its corporate offices. I thought these consumer agencies did nothing but I was wrong. They filed formal legal complaints with both companies and I had my money less than two weeks after that.

Thanks for all the replies, I am now trying
to trace down the address of manu. of the
Bounty Hunter, Herman Weirauch company,
Germany. I just cannot believe a company
would want a product this bad on the market.
