EAA Corp firearms warranty & service

EAA Corp firearms--the Witness series, windicators, baikal firearms, etc., are warranted only to the original owner. Their service system is slow, unresponsive and expensive. Neither of these are up to industry standards. Consider these factors when making a firearm purchase.

I have to disagree.
I purchased a Baikal O/U double rifle that was very used.
It had a broken safety which they repaired for free; my cost was $17 to ship it.

Great and I'm glad for your good experience getting an exception from their stated policy. No one can legally buy or even receive your firearm as a gift and expect the the same service because their stated policy precludes it. That alone cuts into the value of your firearm. Any other major firearm manufacturer will stand behind their products regardless of who owns them or when they were acquired. EAA does not as a matter of policy, which places EAA below industry standards and warrants buyer caution.

Just a quick perusal of a couple brands I own:

EAA: lifetime warranty to the original retail purchaser.
CZ: 5 years with original receipt.
Sig Sauer: Lifetime to original purchaser.

Your concern about the warranty seems like a non-issue. As far as their customer service, never had to use it. My EAA Witness .45 purchased and heavily used since the mid '90s is still functioning perfectly.

I own three EAA firearms. Two Baikal IZH35M target pistols and a Saiga IZ114 rifle. On one of the handguns, the slide release lever broke with in the first month. They replaced it with just a phone call, they trusted me and told me to throw away the broken one. Well it broke again another month later. No warranty this time. The part was replaced once, and not again. It’s an inexpensive item only made out of stamped sheet metal, so the money isn't my complaint. The item broke under warranty, and it should have been replaced free of charge.

Other then that, all three firearms have run flawlessly. The two pistols are as accurate as any $1000 European target pistol at less then half that cost. Overall I must say I am happy with them.

If you don't like EAA's warranty, then perhaps you should consider a Taurus - I hear that their warranty service is fabulous.....and, folks get to use it extensively so they should know.
