EAA compact .45/9mm combo?

I saw this pistol in the latest CDNN advertisment. It's a great concept. Does anyone know anything about this pistol in particular and EAA in general?

EAA - European American Armory Corporation. They import pistols, revolvers, shotguns, rifles, and combo's from European manufacturers.

The semi-automatic pistols are made by Tanfoglio in Italy. Many seem to like EAA's Witness line. As CZ-75 knock offs the design is solid. Unlike the CZ-75 the safety can be on with the hammer up or down. There are some who have had bad experiences with the Witnesses, but it doesn't seem like any more than other lines.

I have two witnesses and like them both. I also have a CZ-75B MIL and while the original is nice, the CZ actually makes me appreciate the EAA more.

Witness is Tanfoglio of Italy...

ATTICUS,

The Witness line-up of pistols is produced by Tanfoglio of Italy.

I really like the design/balance of the pistol itself and the wide selection of caliber offerings available. The issues having been experienced by me and several others has been with the USA importer/distributor, that being EAA.

While I won't belabor the topic on this post, I will say that I'm not the only person that has experienced this. Research I've done relatng to this has exhibited a wide variance of experiences, not consistent in their handling of customer service issues. It has varied from individuals being very pleased to being extremely mistreated(verbally) in the manner the issue was handled.

Do a search of EAA, Witness and Tanfoglio of this forum, as well as several others to get a more rounded view.

Have any of you seen this combo advertised before. It is similar to the Beretta 9mm/.40 combo (with two full uppers), except one is in.45acp. I don't have the catalogue in front of me, but I think they're asking $397. Appears to be a pretty good deal. The EAA web site doesn't mention it at all.

CDNN Witness special....

ATTICUS,

The special you refer to is in the latest(most recent) CDNN flyer/catalog, 2002-1. The listing is found on the inside of the front cover(page 2).

The ad indicates "EAA Combo 45/9 Compact" and is for the polymer frame compact, listing the slides as being matte blue finish. The ad lists 2 slides, 2 barrels and 2 mags(one mag for each caliber). Sights on the picture in the ad are the standard windage drift adj. rear with the front being integral to the slide.

The ad isn't listed at the CDNN website, as they don't appear to list the firearms on the site. However, you can download the flyer/catalog I'm referring to at this page:

You can also call CDNN's toll free number at 800-588-9500 and ask a CDNN rep directly, any questions you may have.

Good luck!
