EAA bounty hunter or Taurus Tracker?

I am wanting a good first revolver and I like the Taurus Tracker in 17 HMR and the EAA Bounty Hunter in 22lr/mag. Which would be the best?? I know that the 17 ammo is rather expensive. Are there any good places to buy the HMR ammo? I don't need the" .22 is good for practice" speech because I have a Mark III, I would just also like to have a revolver and like the Tracker, but ammo is a little much in my opinion for a rimfire.

The 22/22 WMR EAA Bounty Hunter single actions are POJ. Save yourself the trouble. I find no use for a 17 anything. My choice would be a S&W 22 lr. If I could find one, a Colt Trooper in 22 lr.

.17hmr

I'll second Sir William on the .17 HMR. While it offers some unique small game/varmint opportunities from a rifle, the shorter pistol barrel robs it of it's velocity, which is it's chief advantage.
.22 WMR is another round that, in my experience, has been better suited to rifles than to pistols. Your mileage may vary.
It seems to me that .22 LR is a good multipurpose round that can be very effective for a variety of applications. It is useful and accurate in a pistol, chances are you have ammo lying around, and it can be had most anywhere. A single action .22 revolver can be a fun, accurate, and highly reliable firearm. While there is much to be said for some of the higher priced firearms, I have had good luck with EAA products in the past. I have also had nothing but good with my Heritage Arms "Rough Rider" .22 single action. They can be had inexpensively and generally include an interchangeable .22 Mag cylinder. I have a blued/casehardened one and would suggest the same. I have heard that the nickel finish is not terrribly durable and will sometimes flake or chip.

Hope that helps somewhat.

I have no idea about the .22's but i have experience with the EEA Bounty Hunter in .357. If the .22's are anything like the .357's........RUN AWAY FAST!!!

Mine was 1 bang and 5 clicks on the first cylinder full. My buddy has 2 .357 Bounty Hunters. One has been in the shop twice for light firing pin hits. The transfer bar was replaced both times. Then the ejector rod broke. The third one is on it's third visit to the local 'smith. Same problem.
