Dynamit Nobel CB brass case stuck in 22

I bought some cb caps Dynamit Nobel to shoot in my new FIE Texas Ranger .22 revolver. The brass cases are sticking in the cyl so hard that the ejector can't remove them. To get them out I have to take out the cyl and force them.

The gun shoots okay with the cabs, power is greatly reduced of course, but the cases don't come out easy.

Does anybody else have problems with shooting cb caps out of their revolver or know why the cases are getting stuck. I know that the FIE is not a ruger or
SW, but it suits my needs for occassional plinking.

One Other Thing

I just noticed that the case for these cb caps is made out of copper not brass. That might be the reason why they are so hard to get out of this gun. I would try another 22 but I only have one.

Have you tried any other ammo? Does regular .22 lr brass stick? CB caps shouldn't develop particularly high pressures and I've never had problems with the CCI CB caps... Is it possible that you're firing with a .22 wmr cylinder instead of a .22 lr cylinder? I know that some other .22 revolvers come with two cylinders and the FIE Texas Ranger is usually one of them (don't know if you got yours new or used). If I recall, .22 wmr has a slightly larger case diameter than .22 lr, so if you were firing .22 lr ammo in the wmr cylinder the cases may get stuck. Just a thought.

I shoot Dynamite Nobel Floberts in a Stevens .22 "Favorite" for vermin control that does not make much noise. They are comparable to CB caps. They too are copper cases rather than brass and powered by the priming compound only.. Many times I experience sticking of the empty case in the chamber. Normally, a little sharper tug on the extractor does the trick of removing it but sometimes I have had to use a cleaning rod to get it out. Maybe it is just the nature of the beast. Quantrill

Thanks for all the resonses. I have some regular .22 lr ammo now and will go to the range and test them to see if any of the brass cases get stuck. The fie revolver that I bought for $60.00 was in 100% condition. As far as I can tell it has never been shot before. Other then the cartridge problem, it's a fun gun for plinking. It has been compared to a Heritage Rough Rider. Both guns were
manufactured in Florida. Read an article that Indicated that both companies
were and are owned by individuals in the same family. I posted an article in
rec.guns asking for comparisions between the FIE and the Heritage and one
fella who owned both said that they were virtually identical with most of the internal parts being interchangeable.

Couldn't wait to go to the range so a friend gave me some cb's to shoot in my basement to see how the gun shot. From 25 feet it was dead on.

The revolver only came with a 22 cyl.
