Duracoat on a Bolt Action

I wanted to fix up an old rifle so I picked up a beat up old k98 mauser a few weeks ago and I have decided I am going to apply a duracoat Matte Black finish to the metal. I have already stripped and stained the stock. My question is do I have to take the Bolt completly apart to paint it or can I leave it assembled?

It's best to disassemble the bolt since you don't want to paint the bolt body or extractor, just the handle and the bolt shroud and safety.

thank you for the information. I had been toying with cold bluing but in the end I want this to look good and be durable so I went this route.
