Dumpster Diving Pistol/Rifle Rest...

Still acquiring stuff, decided I need a pistol rest so I wouldn't shoot my chrony beta right off the bat. After checking out videos of pistol rest, I went dumpster diving  for enough stuff to make mine. Not real fancy but it seems to work. Most of the stuff was Unistrut, Unistrut fittings, spring nuts, armaflex pipe insulation, and a car jack. Using a pipe vise to hold the rest. Needless to say I am a pipe fitter/plumber. The pistol is a replica 357 Python.
Any comments or suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks for sharing, etcher1.

My first Chronograph took a bullet on the first day. Fortunately, it was at the end of the day's shooting.

Two pieces of 11" long channel iron (one between the sensors and one on a slant in front) keep my current Chrony safe from flying lead.

Nice job on the rest. The adjustable height front end is nice.

Looks good. But make sure your pistol doesn't get hot enough to melt that foam rubber. That would be a real mess to clean off your gun.

It's "suppose" to withstand 300 degree.

That is pretty cool looking. Well done, I love the jack for elevation. I think it beats mine, I just use sandbags I fashioned out of old socks and heavy plastic bags. Gets the job done I guess.

That is really cool.

I have an old pipe vise sitting in the barn and a couple of those jacks... Maybe, just maybe, I'll make something like this.

Thanks for the idea.
