Hello all, I have a question that I think is most likely a dumb one, but I have to ask to ease my mind. I picked up a new england arms (looks like an H&R) .410 single shot for a very young child. It says 3 in. on it. Can I still shoot the 2.5's through it???
Thanks,

Yes, if its a 3" chamber / then you can shoot 2 1/2" or 2 3/4" shells in it as well. No issues / and its not a dumb question ...

The length of a shotshell ( is measured /after the hull is fired ) ...so measuring a hull tricks people up ...just don't exceed 3" ...in fired length / and you're good to go.

nice. Have him practice putting the safety on and off. Those guns are great starters but the safety has always scared me. Especially practice if it's an old one without the transfer bar safety. With a 410 recoil shouldn't be any issue, so you shouldn't sweat about starting him on 2.5 in.
