Dumb criminal of the day

MAN ACCIDENTLY WOUNDS HIMSELF:

"Ocean Beach (San Diego)-- A 35-year old man intent on shooting someone else accidently shot himself in the abdomen yesterday, police said.
He had gone to the Ebb Tide Motel on West Point Loma Boulevard near Bacon Street "looking for a person he wanted to shoot", said police Lt. Dave Elliott.
The man found that person and pulled a semiautomatic handgun from his waistband, Elliott said. When he cocked the weapon and pulled the trigger, the muzzle was pointed at his own lower body. He was taken to a hospital, where he underwent surgery."

He must have forgotten the rule about not pointing a gun at something you don't want to destroy
 
Sounds like he also forgot that the bullet-thingy's come out the end with the little round hole in it. :rolleyes:

He most likely got mixed up in his gangster stance with the weapon pointed on its side and forgot to do a 180 degree turn with it upon firing it. He wanted to look cool and wound up looking fool. May all like him do likewise, the murdering thug.
 
Wow, how the hell did he manage that? I mean, that's just not easy to do, pistol grips aren't exactly designed to be held backwards, let alone fired that way. Perhaps he was acting like mr. toughguy and was using the gun to accentuate his points as he was talking to his intended victim and when pointing the gun at himself in a gesture, he managed to fire it. That's about the only real way I can think of, I mean, it's so bizarre....

My guess is he had his finger inside the trigger guard, and, as he pulled the gun from his pants, pulled the trigger as well. Now THAT could be a castrating experience. I'm sure it ruined his whole day!

Guy jumps on a bus, robs everyone, gets $800, jumps off the bus ... in the middle of a civic gathering of 400 LEOs.

Oh, there's been tons of great stories about dumb bad guys. One who held up a bank then came in the next day with the cash to open an account. Another idiot robbed a convenience store, taking cash and some lottery tickets. One of the tickets was a winner, and he came back to redeem it. Another dufus robbed the bank he did business with, and wrote the stickup note on his deposit slip.
