Dueling Pistols!

Sorry about the misleading thread title.

This isn't about pistols used for dueling. This is about me shooting my Glock 23 and my S&W 67 at the range today. No contest on slow-fire accuracy at 7 yards:

I was surprised how much difference there was. I've had the Glock for a while and thought I was getting better with it. Just got the Smith, and already I'm better shooting it than the Glock. I guess it's not really all that surprising, given the huge differences between them.

I'm liking the 67 more and more.

I'm liking the Glock less and less (at least for target shooting). I just can't hit well with it.

Its a "trigger thing" ..... one breaks like glass ....and one is like squeezing a piece of rotten fruit ....

I'm not surprised ...

Now rent a 1911 ....and see if it gets even better ...with a trigger that moves straight back ( and breaks like glass )...

It isn't always who made it / sometimes its purely mechanics ...of how the triggers feel, slack, break and how they reset ...

While I'd like to blame it on the gun, I'm sure the Glock is capable of accuracy far beyond my ability. I'm obviously doing something weird. It's hard to understand, because I could swear that I hold a good sight picture through the trigger break. Yet, the target doesn't lie!

I've never shot a 1911. One day I need to try one out, and see what I've been missing.
