Duck Stamp Time

I have never been one to duck hunt, mainly cause I didn't like the taste of the bird. Today I was at cousins for dinner. One item on the menu was duck. He had shot it yesterday. Let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious, not greasy, not oily, not gamey in the least. He wouldn't tell me his secret, but Ill get it out of him.

Tomorrow its off to the post office for a Federal stamp and then the hardware store for a state stamp, and then the gunshop for nontoxic shells.

Does anyone here have any secret duck recipies they would like to share?

Duck camp special

We take the breast fillets, leg and thigh quarters and dump them in a crock pot with a good barbecue sauce. Let them slow cook while we hunt all day and by sunset, that's good eat'in.

I think that is what he did. Actually I upland hunt more. But sometimes I jump a duck by a pond or ditch. I used to not shoot for legal and ethical reasons. Tomorrow I'll take care of one of the reasons. Next jumped duck will take care of the other.

Wonder where one would get the idea they would be greasy and all the other words you described the duck with??

I suppose you think beavermeat wouldnt be any good either..

.....try it and you may I say....
