Duck Luck 07??

A little post for duck hunters and little about where I hunt. I am from TN and hunt along side a refuge in a 100 acre field. The last two years our club has had great success and I really cannot complain. We have absolutely slaughtered them by killing several hundred. We have made some changes that has led us to two awesome years of hunting and I would just like to hear of how you all did this past duck hunting season. How many birds do you think you killed? Where do you hunt? Good or bad season? Any changes that you have made to improve hunting?

Im always interested in hearing about other regions of the US and how people did compared to me.

Another awesome year in Arkansas. I hunt public land, flooded timber. I hunt small groups, mostly 2-6 people. We limited out most every time we went, which for a college guy is a lot. I hunt the same area almost all the time, only thing different in the last couple of years is the enormous amount of out of state people that will hunt 50 yards from you, locals do it too.

Great sucess story Flank. I havent killed any since I left Munford. :D Lower Hatchie always produced good as did the river around Brandywine. I live in Dyer co. now so maybe next year I will get the chance to hunt ducks again.

Another good year on the River! I hunt an area thats kind of urban, all I've ever seen are mallards but I usually get my limit! Check out the pics!

Tried waterfowling the first time this year. No dogs, jump shooting and waders. Found some good areas but the weather was bad, not a lot of flying. Whacked one goose, no ducks flew in close enough. Good fun though and hopefully have a little more success in 10 months.

Activshootr, I hunt in Ripley right on the Chickasaw Refuge, just to give you an idea where we hunt.

As for the past two seasons we have absolutely slaughtered the birds of the sky. Last season was better, limiting out every single trip it seemed like. This year we had streaks where we could kill birds for 2 weeks then they be sparse for about a week.

All in all, I can't complain, I am also a college student and these past years where the best two that I have had. Mostly we have Mallards but we also killed: Pintails, Wigeons, Shovelers, and Gadwalls.
