DSL problems

This is a heads up for MAC users who use a DSL line in the Northeast.

If you use a MAC and you are in the New York region the DSL lines are having problems. The line will cut out after 15 minutes and stay down for about 10 minutes.

Took me four days of pulling my hair out and calling the DSL provider to get them to admit there is a problem. It only affects MAC's. Not PC's.

The affected IP address is 4.3.92.XXX.

Wonder if this qualifies as a hate crime?

Have fun!

Since it is only effecting Macs and not PCs, its probably not a DSL problem, but a security problem. Setup a firewall.

It IS a DSL problem. The info above came from the mouth of my DSL tech support. The ISP provided by the local phone co is the problem. A firewall won't help me if I cannot get through to the ISP.

The problem has been causing double posts, lost E mail and other annoying problems. The ISP now recognizes that there is a problem and has a message explaining the problem on their answering system when you call.

Sounds more like an ISP problem rather than DSL. Sounds like they did not set up correctly for the Macs.
