dry lubes?

It will malfunction at some point. Oil is a much better lubricant for tightly fitted machine surfaces. Yes, it attracts and holds grit but it is still a better lubricant.

I've been using this for about 1 year now on all my semi's with good results. I know that Hornady touts this as being both a cleaner and lubricant, but I don't feel it cleans as well as my old standby Hoppe's #9. As a dry lube though, I think it's much better than oil, which slowly dries out and gums up, or grease, which attracts all kinds of grit, pocket link, etc. Especially important factor to me on my carry guns.

I get my dry lubes at Lowe's or Home Depot. Much cheaper than the "gun brand" names. Mine is made by DuPont. Teflon Dry Wax Lubricant.

I use it on 22 semi autos, magazines, striker channels and extractor spring channels on Glocks and M&Ps and zippers on all of my shooting bags and rifle cases.

Handy stuff to have around. Big can for about 6 bucks.
