Dry hob-nobbing

Is it okay to repeatedly dry hob-nob on this forum? Will it harm any of the parts? Does anyone sell hobnob snaps? Should the hob or the nob be polished?

I don't think you should hob nob without a live round in the chamber. Just my opinion.
