Drum Mag failure of epic proportions

I bought a Russian style 75 rnd drum mag back in September for $125 dollars at a gun show in Eau Claire, WI. The seller said he reduced the price because the drum had rust on it. When I took it out to the range, loaded it and started firing, it started not loading a round. After popping it open, I found out that the clock spring was broken (snake oil salesman I tell ya).

So, I'm left with a $125 drum mag that can you can only feed 5 rounds into before slipping and losing it's tension. Is there anyplace I can get it repaired or find parts for the thing? Or even a way I can repair it myself?

Rivet the broken ends of the spring together.
OR
Replace the spring.
OR
Sell the mag at a gun show to someone you will likely never see again.

I've already though of selling it back to a dealer but I'm sure they'd check.

I'd like to replace the spring but I need to find a place that sells them first

Riveting...... could be possible if I could get the old one out.
