Drop-Ins, Do They Really Drop In?

I just ordered a drop-in Bar-Sto barrel for my Glock 35, do they really drop right in or are they short chambered and require minor fitting(Hood,Lugs)?

noodles,

I think its a case of sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. The last drop in BarSto barrel I bought was a .357 Sig for my G22. It had to have some minor fitting done. Actually, I think a "fitted" barrel in a Glock is preferable to a drop in. The accuracy is much better IMO.

Not sure about BarSto but I am 4 for 4 reguarding KKM barrels dropping in my Glocks with no fitting. KKM told me that if one didn't quite fit only thing needed was to lightly file a few thousands off of the rear of the barrel hood. I think that barSto will fit you barrel to your slide for $10 or $15.

Yes and no. Sometimes they need minor fitting, other not. I got both a 34 and 35 Barsto barrels last week. The 35 works great, but the 34 needs minor fitting. Even if it does need a bit of fitting Barsto only charges $10 to fit it.

One other question guys, Does it really take 6-8 weeks for delivery? I've heard horror stories about it taking months for some people.

4V50Gary,

Yo Gary, lighten up dude, I just spent over $200.00 just so I can shoot handloads again, some guy are never happy, give me a break! :P :D

Bought a Bar-Sto .40 S&W barrel for my .357 Sig P-226 a couple years ago. The barrel did not fit, I returned it (and my Sig P-226) to Bar-Sto for fitting (no cost), and within a week had my pistol and the fitted .40 S&W barrel back. It is terrific: extremely accurate and beautifully machined. I recommend Bar-Sto highly and suggest you have them fit the barrel.

I read of lot of post on various forums about people having trouble with the custom fitted barrel being to tight and to only get it if you are going to use it for competition. People have suggested that the way to go is to buy the drop-in barrel and then if its to tight send it back to BAR-STO for the final minor fitting. I will be using my G35 in USPSA LIMITED competition but as bad as I shoot I'm not worrying about how accurate the pistol is I'm just happy to hit the target somewhere central mass. :D
