Drooling over a CZ-75D

Well, that little voice on my shoulder is at it again.

This time it has me drooling over a CZ-75 D Compact (PCR). It looks like a nice little piece to add to my "harem", and reviews seem to be positive across the board.

Before I actually leap at it, though, I would like to check with you---the TFL collective :D ... Is there anything negative about it that I ought to know?

Also, does it make a good CCW? Is it easy to field strip? Does it eat anything you feed it? Are parts easy to find?

Typically, the newer CZ are great guns, and the PCR is apparently NOT an exception...

Personally, however, I dislike the D (for "Decocker") models, as one of the real positive features of a CZ is the ability to shoot DA or SA (and carry cocked and locked.) The D does away that feature.
 
I carry a CZ compact..basically same gun...heavier and no decock.

It carries very well, I am slim...making concealment a challenge for me..short of a P32. I carry with IWB holster at 4.00 and have no problem keeping my compact well hidden.

It field strips very easily...pull slide back, match up the "marks", push the pin/slide lock through and the slide is off. Actually happens faster than I just read it back to myself.

Typically, CZ's will eat ANYTHING. I have an 83 .380, Compact
and looking at another. While both of my guns are faily new, the only FTE I have had in over 2500 rnds was a gun show reload
that had burn marks up the entire case. 1 round.

Any parts are in stock @ czusa...mike and marty are the best.

I am pro-D

My CZ-75BD (full size) is my current bedside gun. My wife could just pick it up and shoot it if she had to, no safety except a long pull.

It decocks to and carries at half cock. The first shot in DA is not bad at all. And if you prefer a SA first shot, just pull the hammer back before you fire.

I really like the BD. It's also a good IDPA gun.
