Dri Wash' n Guard on firearms

I bought some of this stuff

years ago at a gun show and never used it and I thought
I would try it out now but I can't remember how the salesman said to
apply it and there is no directions on the bottle.
Has anyone tried this stuff and how did you apply it?

It's made for cars(ie painted steel), not firearms. Not for use on wood either. If you scroll down to the second last paragraph, there's a link to a how-to.

The dealer is always at the gun shows and the guy puts his guns out as demos that he used it on, it does make the metal nice and smooth. He had special instructions for use on firearms but I just don't remember. I will ask him at the next show I go to.
