After cleaning my handgun barrels, I run a wet patch of Birchwood Casey Dri-Moly down the bore several times. It does a great job of preventing copper fouling from sticking to the bore and makes subsequent cleanings much easier. Is there any downside to doing this?

For handguns, no reported downside. There are reports from M1A/M14 shooters that moly in the chamber on those guns seems to increase bolt velocity. I would not shoot moly in my M1A.. Or my 10mm Delta Elite.
