Dream Wheels

Bulldozer

Let's start this thread out right by saying I already own a gaggle of wheel-guns that I love dearly. The 7-shot 357s with 2-,4-, and 6-inch pipes are the pride and joy in my l'il old collection. But there has been a nagging feeling in the back of my mind that a niche was not quite filled. I also have J-frames that are near and dear as well.

I'll be moving to a CCW state within the next year as part of a promotion at work and I fully intend to get a license for carry right after the drivers license is minted. That is when the void was properly identified.

I NEED A 7-SHOT 357 WITH A THREE-INCH PIPE!!!

Now, I used to have a 3" M-13 that I (like a dolt) traded a while back. The 3-inch pipe is just perfect for CCW -- longer sight radius than snub 2", full length ejector rod stroke. But I abolsutely, positively do not want some new lightweight tin (Scandium, Iridium, Coltium, Sigium, etc.) gun. I want a steel-framed, old-style, 7-shot, stainless magnum. Who makes such a beast?

Sounds like you need a 686 S&W Plus with the 3" bbl. Think have seen a one
on an auction site somewhere.

how about really filling that need...

get the 686+, for it's 7-shot capacity, and have weigard add his interchangable barrel system. then you can change barrel lenghts as the mood strikes you

Hmm, If one can change barrels why not get an extra cylinder and crane in .44 Special and change calibers, too?

The ULTIMATE .357

The Mighty Thor came down from Valhalla and showed me his own ultimate .357. It was a Heritage Edition model 627 with a 3.5 inch barrell and a checkered top strap with the McGivern Gold Bead front sight and the old rounded hump magna grips made of stag horn....A gun fit for the gods.....

I'll second the PC 627

but it is a pretty large critter, not exactly what I would call a CCW piece. It is an N frame. I mean I am sure it could be done but at 48 oz or so that is a lot of iron to be tucking away.

Other than that mine has been spectacular. little heavy on the double action pull but it is still new and it is a pain to clean with all those nooks and crannys. That is all the bad I can say about it.

Of course I was told recently at the range that I must be compensating for something by having this beast.

So I pulled out my Ladysmith and said so what does this say?

The answer was I must be passive aggressive. Ahh so be it, I love em both.:)
