Double Nine convertible revolver

I just aquired this High Standard Double Nine Convertible revolver. My friend says that the " Convertible" means that the barrel and cylinder can be changed to a different caliber. How does one tell the specific model IE; W101 W102 ... etc? The serial # is MO18428. I would like to make this gun a larger caliber if possible.

your double nine convertible originally came with 2 cylinders one for 22 long rifle and one foe 22 winchester magnum. Just the cylinders are changed, not the barrels. Which cylinder do you now have for the revolver?
If you have the long rifle cylinder, a 22 magnum round will not fit into it. if you have the magnum cylinder a 22 long rifle round will fit loosely.

I am sure the cylinder I have is for the long rifle as they fit perfectly. Thanks for the info. I am disapointed that I can not change barrels because someone cleaned the outside of the barrel with sandpaper. It is going to take a lot of work to refinish it.

Sorry, can't help anymore. Maybe they no longer stamped the #'s on the frame. see if you can find John Stinson's High Standard website. Should be able to find help there.

Wow, have I learned a lot about a High Standard Double Nine revolver in the last couple of days. Parts are really hard to come by. Is there a good source for parts for this gun? W 106 Longhorn.
