Double Barrel Scattergun

Say I have a friend that has an old side by side 12guage and if (hypothetically) you pull one of the triggers and both cylinders fire is this illegal?

My understanding is that if it is a malfunction, broken parts, and not intentional it is not illegal. If you alter a gun to fire more than once with a single pull of trigger it is illegal. However, believe it or not, the BATF is not normally that interested in going after guns that double (fire two shots).

The gun is broken and not illegal. I have had people tell me they had .22's semi-autos that went full auto. Many handguns will when the disconnector wears out.

A gunsmith can repair these without a letter of permission or any other hassle.

When you say one of the triggers I assume the gun had two. You can legaly pull both at the same time if you wish.

I would stand by with bandages/ splints depending on gauge/stance:eek:

I couldnt imagine shooting it with anything but light target loads, I threw in 2 7.5shot 2 3/4 and didnt know that it shot 2 at a time. I was leading the clay and pulled the rear trigger and BOOM it tore it right out of my front hand:eek: I did it a couple more times, its really easy to hit clays that way! But if you where shooting say some slugs or even 3" 4shot you would probably only make that mistake once. Its a fun trick to pull on your friends though, funny to watch their expression:D
