Don't use Model 1 Sales

Before you order anything from Model 1 Sales you has better:
(1) Send your order by mail describing in detail every part or kit you want.
(2) Demand a written confirmation prior to shipment.
(3) Pay by credit card so that if your order is incorrect or the parts are pos you can stop payment easily.
(4) Examine the parts or kits thoroughly, if you are not very familiar with the quality to expect of the parts have a good gunsmith examine them.
(5) If/when you find problems send a certified letter, followed by an email, followed by a phone call detailing the problem thoroughly.
(6) If/when you find yourself against a brick wall trying to talk to customer NO SERVICE get a lawyer, I did but the jury is still out.
(7) Tell all your friends about this crook, the power of word of mouth is incredible.

Thanks, Alex

I don't know. My 'dealings' with Model 1 didn't go past the phone call. The lady on the phone was so bloody rude that I just said 'nevermind', and hung up. I then called J&T, and they were GREAT to deal with. I've also had VERY bad experiences with Bushmaster, so J&T gets ALL my business.

Service is still important.

Just put a Model 1 upper on a Colt lower I have. I decided to get thier complete parts kit that was cheaper than just the uppers I've found advertized everywhere else. Now I've got about 300 rounds through it and no problems yet. It's as accurate as any thin profile barrel I've seen and the fit and finish is great (though a little darker than the Colt lower's) Now I've got to go load up some more ammo so I can use that upper some more, it's just getting broken in! :D

I put the lower parts kit on another stripped lower I've had lying about and it works great. The collapsable stock I've kept in reserve in case the Colt lower's collapsable stock ever gives up the ghost. (Only have one rifle that's pre-ban compatable)

Model 1 had the parts I ordered to me in 10 days and the people I talked to were great. I can't say how thier customer service has been as I haven't needed them yet. And from the looks of things I probably won't...

Like BB I've read the Alex story at AR-15.com. I realize that if you look hard enough that you can find people with horror stories about dealings with every firearms manufacturer out there, (Colt, Bushy and Armalite included) and ya just can't please some people. I'll buy freely from Model 1 next time too.

Ok BB, thats fine you use Model 1. I sincerly hope that you have good luck with them. It is interesting that the only real argument your friends can give for the wrong parts being sent is that "I didn't read the ad correctly" horse sh*t, I specified EXACTLY what I wanted more than one time, with more than one person, not only verbally but by email too. The fact remains that these suckers lied about what they had in stock, evaded answering about what they sent, and their stock answer to my persistance is "quit wasting my time". You deserve better.

Alex, if your gripe is really legit why not sue them. If you are on solid ground then pursue legal action.

sks
