Don't tell me I'm the only one that does this..

30 years ago when I was a forklift jockey, I'd get off work and find myself attempting to shift into reverse with the turn signal lever...

Me too.

I do this too. I have to enter a lot of numbers on the computer and I notice cal. numbers. Kind of helps me remember them.
Also to Salmoneye, I did that too and honked going through intersections. When I would hear someone honking like that I figured they were forklift operators also.

About caliber numbers, I see them on license plates and addresses too. Guess it is symptom of our illness or obsession.

I will look at my digital watch and try to make caliber designations out of the numers in one of my particulary long, boring classes. Helps pass the time.

I still drive using two feet... even though I have an auto trans...

It’s a shame you couldn’t number otherwise identical courses .308 and .223 ... and study potential differences between the personality types of those taking each course.:D

You're not the only one... I remember several numbers from credit cards and such because they match gun numbers.... CVC code 284 for instance, 7mm:D

Whenever my 10-year old son notices that the time on a digital clock is 5:56, 2:23, or 3:08, he says, "Hey Dad, it's shooting time."

Everytime I see it's 2:43 I instantly think of .243 and I also do it with engines too. I remember my PO number because it's a SBC ci number.

Me too, other numbers that catch my eye:

-17,18,19,26,27(glock pistols)
-36(HK G36)
-9,40,45(I think you can figure that out)
-30(HK P30)

I was looking for some handgun calipers, then I finally realized that the calipers I used around the shop were just fine for guns.

;)

It's a great way to remember phone numbers, too.

In addition to calibres, I will make a mental relationship of certain model numbers of guns. For example, the last four digits of my phone number are two different Winchester models. Another friend of mine who, ironically, collects Mosin-Nagant rifles has a phone number where the last four correspond to two different M-N models.

I guess it's all a form of mnemonics.

Thats how i came up with my username, 17 as in Glock 17.

My son (9 y.o.) notices the numbers .... :D
