I was surprised how many gun owners that I talked to in the past few weeks were planning to vote for Gore. Most of them actually believe that he won't do anything that would affect them and their guns. They are probably right, too.
Our challenge is to convince them that taking away guns that they *don't* use is just the first step. Eventually they'll lose thier self-loading shotguns, then their pumps. Very few believe this, though. They think I'm paranoid.
Perhaps I am paranoid... Then again, perhaps I have good reason to be.

Use the dialogue between Judge Garwood and William Meteja in the Emerson case (where Meteja argues that there is no right to bear arms).
It is available online at a lot of places including http://www.saf.org and http://www.guncite.com (under "Nobody wants to take your guns")
So far I've converted one Gore gun owner to Bush (I believe his response was "That's a load of crap!", and convinced two others to vote Nader (Nader favors leaving the gun control situation as is - a good alternative for people who want their Second Amendment rights and left-wing politics).
