DOH! Just Got "Made" at Work

I've been using an ankle rig for over 6 months. I used to pull my sock up and over it for extra camo. Since I started to get a bad rash, I've been putting it on over the sock for the past few weeks. Well, after 6 months, my so-called "observant" co-worker has only NOW just spotted it! Luckily, he's cool about the situation. For that matter, so is my boss. But, I can't help but feel a bit stupid nonetheless. :( Discretion is the rule with me. :)

Take an additional old sock and cut it sort of like a ladies tube top. Use that as the cover for the holster. That way you have your normal sock between the skin and holster and a covering "sock" on the holster.

Thanks, Mark. In the last few minutes, he's asked me about a good source through which to obtain his permit too! Hopefully, this will all stay under wraps.:0

I am a 49 year old engineer, and every job I get the other old fart engineers have concealed carry licences too.

I have worked at companies that didn't allow weapons at work. They wore them anyway. Someday, they may have a sonic or radar detector that will spot those weapons.

It happens. I was in my office with my feet up on the desk, and my receptionist asked me what was sticking out of my pants (referring to my ankle holster, pervs). No problem with carrying at work, in fact, in my business it's encouraged! It happens to all of us.

I've also gotten tagged by friends who know I carry and are looking for it. However, most of the time my friends look, and then ask me if I'm carrying.

I've tagged several people with fanny packs, and I usually confront them by asking "So, what do you shoot?" It has always led to conversation.

Wow, I'm envious. Not only do I live in Kansas where there is no concealed carry, but I also have the misfortune to be employed at a high school :(
At least I work nights so I don't have to worry about being defenseless if some punk kid decides to bring an assault rifle to school...

thestallion,
I am the opposite- I live in a 'shall issue' state but teach during the day. Grumble,grumble,ragglestatzen....
I can only imagine what would happen if I got caught packing at work. I can see the headline now: Psycho teacher totes bazooka into classroom, children besmirch their drawers!
Hell, I have had kids offer to sell me guns. One kid said his dad could get me "anything". Last year I made a joke about going into business for myself making novelty kevlar ties to sell at teacher stores and back-to-school sales. Some poeple thought it was funny but others...
I envy you guys.
