Dogs of war: 9mm quad?

Just finished watching the movie " Dogs of War" starring Chris Walken.
During the segment of the movie where the mercenaries are procuring weapons a request for some 9mm Quad is mentioned often. Anyone know what this refers to?

Been a while since I seen "Dogs", but I thought they were referring to ammo with that term. I remember thinking at the time it may have been one of those made for movie terms that was supposed to sound cool.

"Dogs of War" is from is from 1980... it predates MOLLE and SPEAR by almost two decades.
