80 MILLION AMERICANS OWN GUNS, we are told.

I would think that these 80 MILLION AMERICANS would all be voting against gun control, and their so called "representatives" who might be pushing same, yet we see the likes of Henry Hyde of IL, to mention just one individual, spending years in The House of Representatives, where he attacks and betrays us every chance he gets.

Now, I would think, perhaps in error, that the 80 million americans who own guns would present an impressive voting block, especially if they voted their obvious interests, or what one would take to be their obvious interests.

If it turns out that they don't, then quite possibly, they do not deserve the civil rights that so many have sacrificed so much to maintain and defend.

The foregoing merely reflect my own thoughts, for whatever they might be worth to others.

Really makes you wonder. Do you think 70 million got a gun because so and so got one. "I have to get one just to keep up." Kinda leaves the rest of us hanging out to dry.

Apathy. It isn't just gun owners but all Americans. Look at the number of people that may legally vote in the country compared to those that actualy show up at the polls.
Couple that with the number of gun owners that are hunters with the attitude that *they* only want the evil guns and would never go after their hunting rifles, duck gun, etc. and we have dismal turn out at the polls.
I could also go into the fact that I distrust the ballot counts and election practices but I don't feel like going off on a rant this early in the morning. :(
