Does Smith & Wesson get any royalties from the sales of .40S&W ammo?

This may be a shot in the dark but it's worth pondering. Does Sell-us-out and Weasel get any royalties from ammo manufacturers for the research S&W did for this caliber?

If so, this message should serve as a wake-up call to those on this board who are in charge of specifying handgun calibers for various entities. It would be ashamed to reward S&W when there are other fine choices out there now would'nt it?

I would highly doubt it. If so SIG should for the .357 SIG and Remington should .44 Remington Magnum. I think it was more of a name recongnition thing when the cartridge besides some companies won't put anothers name on their product I think it's Glock that just calls it a .40 and .357, though I could wrong on all accounts.
